This training is designed for personnel who are appointed by their employer as Designated First Aiders within the workplace. Participants will be trained to take responsibility for providing first aid care, coordinating emergency response, and maintaining first aid readiness until professional medical assistance arrives.

The training meets workplace first aid requirements and equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage a wide range of medical and trauma-related emergencies.

A valid or current offshore medical, or possess an operator approved medical, and/or undergo medical screening form in SEQU.
The objectives of the DFA (Petronas) Training are that learners will be able to:
- Understand the roles, responsibilities, and legal requirements applicable to a Designated First Aider in the workplace.
- Demonstrate effective Basic Life Support (BLS), including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Conduct primary and secondary assessments to determine casualty conditions and appropriate first aid priorities.
- Apply appropriate first aid techniques to manage medical conditions, traumatic injuries, and life-threatening situations.
- Manage casualties safely, including bleeding control, immobilization, spinal precautions, and patient transfer.
- Perform the duties of a Designated First Aider professionally and competently until professional medical assistance arrives.
