This Basic First Aid training is intended for personnel who may be required to provide an initial and immediate response to minor injuries or medical emergencies in the workplace or community setting. It is suitable for general employees, supervisors, and support personnel who are not appointed as Designated First Aiders (DFA).

Information

The training equips participants with fundamental knowledge and practical skills to recognise emergency situations, carry out basic lifesaving actions before handover to designated first aiders or professional medical services. This training focuses on application of basic first aid principles.

A valid or current offshore medical, or possess an operator approved medical, and/or undergo medical screening form in SEQU.

The objectives of the First Aid (Basic) Training are that learners will be able to:

  • Identify common workplace injuries and medical emergencies.
  • Perform basic lifesaving techniques safely and effectively.
  • Provide appropriate first aid treatment until medical help arrives.
  • Demonstrate correct use of basic first aid equipment.
  • Act within their level of training and responsibility.
