This training provides essential awareness of H₂S hazards, health effects, detection methods, and immediate response actions to ensure personal safety and compliance with site emergency procedures.

The objectives of the H2S (Shell) Training are that learners will be able to:

  • Understand the properties and hazards of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S).
  • Recognize locations and activities where H₂S may be present.
  • Describe the health effects and exposure limits associated with H₂S.
  • Identify basic H₂S safety requirements and levels of protection.
  • Respond appropriately to H₂S alarms, including escape and mustering procedures.
  • Demonstrate correct use of basic H₂S detection and respiratory protection equipment.
